USTA Virginia – Futures / Novice / L6 Junior Divisions

Futures / Novice / L6 tournaments are intended to be a fun introduction to tournament play for developing juniors.

Futures L6 Participation Guidelines [updated June 2007]:

Players must play up a division if they have a Top 90 MAS standing and/or if they have won three L6 tournaments in an age division.

For example: If Andrew has a B12 MAS standing of #73 and  / or if Andrew has won three Futures tournaments in the B12 age division, he cannot compete in B12 Futures tournaments but he may participate in Futures tournaments in the B14 age division.

Juniors and their parents are asked to keep track of the number of Futures tournaments they’ve won in an age division, and promote themselves to the next age division once they’ve won three events.

Certificate of Achievement

Juniors and parents are also encouraged to contact the USTA Virginia Tennis Tournament Office upon winning their third tournament in a Futures age division. USTA Virginia will send them a certificate of achievement and recognize their accomplishment on the USTA Virginia website.
