USTA Virginia One-Day TournamentsOne-Day tournaments are played to completion in one day and use non-elimination draw formats.
Junior players may compete in
as many one-day tournaments as they would like and their "best 3"
Smash or SuperSet one-day
tournament results will contribute to their USTA Virginia and USTA
Mid-Atlantic standings and year-end rankings.
The three types of one-day tournaments are:

Non-Ranking = U8 QuickStart Tournaments are all non-ranking. Participants are not required to be USTA members to participate. The U10 division of QS tournaments may be non-ranking or ...
Levels 6 and 5 = U10 QuickStart tournaments may be non-ranking, Level 6 (novice) or Level 5. Participants in Levels 6 and 5 tournaments are required to be USTA members because the results from Level 5 tournaments are used in USTA Virginia and USTA Mid-Atlantic standings and rankings calculations, and the results from Level 6 tournaments are used in USTA Virginia Junior and Novice Standings and Rankings calculations.

8 & under division
- Match Formats= best-of-three 7 point games
- Court = 36' x 18'
- Net Height = 2'9"
- Ball = ITF Stage 3 (80/90mm foam or very low compression ball)
- Racquet Recommendation = 19", 21" or 23"
10 & under division
- Match Formats = best-of-three Short Sets (first to 4 games) with a 7 point game in lieu of a 3rd set
- Court = 60' x 21'
- Net Height = 36"
- Ball = ITF Stage 2 (low compression ball)
- Racquet Recommendation = 23" or 25"
Draw Formats: Non-Elimination - Round-Robin or Compass Draws
Play Limitations: Participants may compete in up to three matches
Rest Periods: USTA Regulation III.C (FAC p112) Minimum rest period is 30 minutes
Rankings/Standings: QS non-ranking tournament results are NOT used for rankings purposes
USTA Membership: USTA membership is not required for participants in non-ranking QuickStart tournaments. When the QuickStart format is used for the U10 divisions in L5 and L6 tournaments then USTA membership is required as results from these event levels are used in rankings calculations.
